I have all my plants in a bedroom, its small doesnt get alot of light so I have 3 argosun dayspot grow bulbs 60 watts each. I have a window but as luck would have it Its in front of a house so very little light.

I do manage to keep the following

A money tree

A dragon tree

a bay tree

a coffee plant

a orange bird of paradise

a dwarf dumb cane

a pothos

a couple philodentron hybrids

a heartleaf varigated philodentron

a zz plant

a chinesse evergreen

and a dwarf pyperais

i wrote a thread in the tropicals forum about it as i wonder if the lighting i have for the bird of paradise is strong enough. i group them together/ mist daily and have some in plastic bags/so water dont get in, the bagged pots sit in trays of water so humidity is hopefully not an issue.. granted a heating vent is right under them so i close it and put clothes over it so dry air cant get to um.

Hi, Plantsmylove, welcome to ATP! Sounds like a nice collection. You may want to start a new discussion to ask about your BOP.

Here's another cram - 2 pots hanging from 1 chain (1 hook.)

Very nice. Yeah I'll start a seprate disscusion about the BOP. Right now it looks happy and I still have time to decide what i'm going to do. I just wish people on here knew more about lighting brands, footcandles that sort of thing.

Also I have to keep in mind the other plants.... dont want them roasting because i like my BOP so much.

I have some plants indoors as well too..so the guest rooms have plant tenants now:
First guest room: south facing windows, so Adeniums, Plumeria, Amaryllis, Ficus bonsai and some of the orchids are here, though I try to pull the orchids a bit to the back, light gets too strong at times. This room has a ceiling fan so when I water I run the fan a few minutes.

2nd guest room, also with south facing windows, so some more of the orchids and another amaryllis are here, though the light is more slanted, so it is good enough not to fry them with too much light. Sundew is hiding somewhere there too, to help in gnats control. This room also has a ceiling fan which I run a few minutes after watering.
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/4eb496

Home office area: windows are north facing so this is the domain of my pinguiculas and a pothos container. These plants stays here year round.
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/236698

In our bathroom, my newly rescued orchids are staying there, so they get the humidity and some muted eastern light
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/78d230

Downstairs, the baywindows are north facing, so my ZZ plants stays there year round
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/494536

This orchid pole, houses my Phals and Paphiopedilums so it stays downstairs year round by this west facing window and light from north facing sliding glass doors. Beside the pole is where my Hoya shooting star stays as well. There is a ceiling fan here, so I also run the fan a few minutes after watering.
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/9f738e

It is now joined by my Hoya kerrii variegata, another ficus and my ponytail palm
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/5c2868

The kitchen sink area is by a west facing window and partially sheltered by shadows of city trees. This is where my schlumbergera, Sansevierias and one of my new rescue croton are staying.
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/05284b

My growcamp outdoors now has some of my cacti and the more tender succulents and still has my Zygopetalum and some of my dendrobium orchids. The plastic foil go down at night to protect them further. Have added some mylar and bubblewrap this year on my growcamp, hope it helps the plants a little more.
Thumb of 2014-11-24/tarev/deaed4

And all my other plants are outdoors, those can take our mild winters, which at times may dip in the low 20's in Jan-Feb.

I have read about that very slow growing phase, that's why I opted for a more mature plant. I cannot wait for 4 to7 years...which they say is how long it takes to be fully mature to make blooms. I was also confused too why it was priced high, and that is the reason..the slow growing it does. But I like that it will grow and bloom in shade once ready! I look forward to that. Big Grin

Definitely post pics of the blooms Thumbs up A friend from Australia gave me the clivia seeds. Out of 30 seedlings, only one survived. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it alive to maturity?
