I thought this might be Southern Lady Fern (Athyrium asplenioides) but I'm really not sure. Photo taken mid May in the North Georgia mountains area of Blue Ridge, Ga.

I don't believe it is a lady fern...
More likely... One of the dryopteris...

There are so many... With such small differences, difficult to positively identify from a single picture.

Nevermind... Just checked your lady fern... It could be...

I had something else in mind as a "lady fern".

LOL, ferns really confuse me. I think there are a couple called "Lady Fern". My first thought was possibly Dryopteris goldiana but pictures I looked at just didn't look right. Ferns are so difficult sometimes. Smiling
