Ah, Mother Nature always wins here in my area..my little garden is her catch basin for the catkins and leaf kernels in Spring, and Fall's leaf scatter. I just sweep away what I can and if there are still some around the containers..so be it..keeps my sanity intact. Can't beat her, so might as well let her be done with that scattering phase. My fountain catches a lot of those leaves too during Fall, so I just turn it off, let the water evaporate and remove the leaves whenever. Anyways it is into cold season by then, so waiting for Mother Nature's liquid gold.
Snails..I toss them towards our dry creek..or I have salt ready for them.
