Never have seen mums with this combo coloring. Most unusual!...and thanks for sharing this with us

Have I ever mentioned to you, Greg, that my grandfather was a chrysanthemum grower in Milpitas, CA?

You did and I totally forgot that!!! I posted several of these when I took them (can't even remember when that was, sometime in 2013 autumn) and you posted at that time about it (then in person we saw a few of them growing and you said it reminded you of him!!

Boy, do I ever repeat myself??? Just hit me next time I get like that again...

I was not exactly sure if this was a mum or a dahlia when I was judging. I actually leaned more towards dahlia. But it does not matter! It was in my top three.

I have an EXTENSIVE mum collection, over 80 varieties! But I MUST get this one!!! Do you know the name?

I went to Greg's profile, clicked on his images and checked under Chrysanthemum in the drop down menu but there was nothing listed for it! You must at least add it to the generic mum listing Greg if you don't know the cultivar name! Chrysanthemum

Sue, Farm was there as early as 1957 and closed/sold in 1978.

Sue and Jennifer that is nice thank you!! These were some amazing mums that are at our local conservatory...I just joined this autumn, and they've been closed for renovation - reopens in December, so I will get the cultivar name then...I have wanted that info! And I thought that I had added it under Chrysanthemum guess I was waiting for cultivar or spaced it (very likely!) I had never seen anything like these mums - they do look like dahlias!! (not the leaves though) and they smell like mums!

Add it anyway to the generic entry and if you find out the name, it's easy to move it!
