Wow, Noel, I don't know where to start. I love the Den. Fire wings and the discolor x waianae profusion. I have never seen either before and they are gorgeous. I have the Smbc. Dulatiaca and love it. By the way, it is now called Lnt. Dulatiaca (L. undulata x Gur. aurantiaca). Just an outstanding show, Noel, good growing!

I know where he lives. Whistling I can always visit. Thumbs up Puerto Rico is a neat place, at least the "tourist" areas I have visited.

Jim, did you ever tell me what specific glass you used on your orchid conservatory?

No glass at all. The big sliding windows are acrylic. The roof is corrugated polycarbonate panels that block 20% of the light and 100% of the UV. Covering the roof panels is 50% aluminet.

Folks, I have a conundrum. Jim, since you have OrchidWiz I'm hoping you can help. Remember that Vanda I posted a couple of weeks ago? Well, I was showing Dad my orchids today and we were having fun sniffing my Oncidium. I showed him the Vanda and pointed to the tag and was joking about how whenever we have a cross that's been named, Jim comes along and gives us the new name. And Dad points and says, "What about that tag?" At first I thought I had two Vandas too close together and they got tangled up, but somehow this plant has two tags on it that have two completely different names! I literally have no idea how this happened. I don't think I've ever re-used a Vanda basket. One tag is attached to the metal piece that comes down from the hook it hangs on and the other is attached with a twisty-tie to the basket. So just who is this orchid? I thought OrchidWiz included pictures so I'm hoping Jim can help. Or anyone else if you happen to know these names.

So the first is the one I said on here a few weeks ago: V. Perry Hollingsworth x V. Tawee. The other is hard to read because the printer seems to have smeared a bit but I think it says: V. Pompimol x V. Simirun 'May'. Here are pictures of the tags and another picture of the plant. This is boggling my mind! Confused

The first hybrid cross you gave me now has a name: V. Thierry Giorncel (V. Perry Hollingsworth x V. Tawee). The flower is a gold color.

The second one is a problem in that V. Pompimol is apparently not registered and I tried different spellings. So, I Googled it and found lots of hits. I even found pictures and it is red. The V. Simirun 'May' is also red so I think this is your Vanda. In addition, you posted in Dave's Garden back on 1/05/2013 that you had just purchased V. Pompimol x V. Simirun 'May' at an orchid show in Sarasota and showed the same red flowers. With all of this info, I think we have a winner.

Jim, the sleuth! Thanks for your hard work. Now, I'm wondering how the heck that other tag got attached? I'm just going to blame the squirrels or Dad or something. So bizarre!
