Elaine in Sarasota, says it will be winter there tonight.. Those temperatures are like spring to me. Here, the wind is howling, it is snowing 100 south of me, and the temperature has continued to drop all day. It is already below freezing and headed to a wind-chill in the single digits! Sighing!

I just came back in from misting my plants (that chore never seems to diminish, and both heaters in both greenhouses were blasting away. The temperature was still 60 F in each, so all is good (until the electric bill falls due Whistling )

I promised a fella who was having problems with his staghorn that I would take some photos of my mounted stags (just a few of them) and I accomplished that while I was out. Glenn, the pictures are on their way.

I think my house needs a greenhouse! Got down to 16 here, a few miles N of FL border. 45 deg inside when I woke up, visible breath & ice all over the inside of the windows.

Your house was 45 F?! Holy Cow. My wife would have checked into a hotel! Whistling How many layers of bedding and clothes did you have to use last night, Tiffany? I don't know about living in a greenhouse, but you really need someone to install some heaters. Thumbs up

My "staff" is my wife, and she too would set the temperature at 72 F. I prefer 68 F in the fall/winter months.

It's still in the 20's here in the Low Country of South Carolina. I just checked both greenhouses .. both stayed in the 40's but the one with my Theobroma was a little colder .. it appears they took a hit .. leaves looking really bad. Hopefully they will come back.

We have 40's and very high winds this morning. Luckily the sun is out so it's warming up a bit. I had the thermostat set at 65 this morning, but after I got dressed I had to climb back into bed and warm up my feet! Turned the thermostat up to 70 and it's nice in here now.

I think I will leave the frost cloth tent over the Earth Boxes and my tropical divas today, just to keep it warmer from the wind chill.

The vicious wind gusts all night are what pushed so much cold air in. We have gas heaters running, but the equipment just can't do much better than about 30-40 deg above outside. Unusual for that to be an issue. It was about 70 in here when I fell asleep, wasn't expecting that this morning at all. But like a lot of 110+ yr old houses around here, the floor is carpet, plywood, outside. I'm moving around a lot, prob good for me, even if I'm whining about it. ;) Won't know if any of the plants are PO'd for a few days/weeks...
