Hi all,
I purchased this tree in 2000 as a sapling, about 12 inches high and it was formed like round mound.

It sat without much change for about 5 years, went untended then deer chewed/rubbed it and it was badly deformed at about 2ft high. I was going to remove it, then about 2 seasons ago it started growing VERY fast and now it is over 10ft high and very wide. It has spread out at the base, I think due to the deer chomping its crown off early on. I have not seen any cones yet. I'd like an ID because I'd like to find another one. It's gorgeous.

Check out this link. Maybe the Pinus strobus 'Pendula' ? There are a number of cultivar images there. There is also an upright Pinus strobus variety called 'Louie'. that has golden needles. Possibly your plant is a hybrid?

Thank you Jean @Moonhowl - I am looking at those photos trying to find a similarity. I wish I could ask the horticulturist I bought it from, unfortunately he and his wife passed away recently. He imported exotic pines and deciduous trees from all over the world to Australia to revegetate after the Snowy Scheme was built. He had some amazing specimens and this was one of them. It could be a hybrid strobus - I will get more info. I noticed when I added some of my pines to my plant list, @frankrichards16 had added some of the rarer cultivars I have.

"Deodar" term does sound familiar to me and the needles look very near to my tree's needles.

MSU Hidden Lake Gardens has a Cedrus deodar 'Eisregen'

the needles look the same.

So, I think you are correct, looks like a cultivar of Cedrus deodar.

Thank you @frankrichards16. I think I may have found the correct species, from visual only: Cedrus Deodrara Golden Horizon. Just from needles, growth shape, new foliage, etc. What do you think?

Agreed, Cedrus deodara. Of course, Eisregen is not a yellow needled cultivar, but there are many golden forms. Without expertise and close examination, definite identification would be impossible, unless shape or growth pattern is very unique and stable across different climates.
