Okay, I have no idea what these seeds are. Anyone care to take a guess?

Only thing that comes to mind is apple seeds. Size, shape and color is about right.

Where'd you get them?

I don't remember but they're not apple seeds. They are plump.

They look a bit too big and too fat to be flax...which is the only thing that comes to mind for me.

What? I posted a reply here. Don't know what happened! Anyway, popcorn is about the closest in looks but I didn't grow any this year and I'm pretty sure it's not that. I did plant some today so if/when they germinate we can figure this one out.

They have a slight pinkish cast to them if that makes a difference.

The pink cast sounds like it may be a seed that has been treated. Usually a crop or garden plant seed is the type subject to treatment. Corn would be a good candidate for that.

These are seeds I collected so they're not treated.

send us a photo of the parent plant if possible that would be the best way to ID the seed.

Are they the correct size for Geranium seeds? Some of those can be pink-ish.

*Blush* If I knew the parent plant I would know the seeds. *Blush* In the course of the year I tend to "collect" seeds wherever/whenever but a lot of times I forget to label them, as in this case.

@greene I think they are a bit large for geranium seeds and I don't remember gathering any geranium seeds. But they are the correct shape

Oh my, I am really embarassed, I just don't know where I got them. Hopefully they will germinate quickly so I can get this figured out.

Thank you everyone for giving me suggestions and trying to help me. Thank You!

One last guess: did you collect anything in the Viola family?

I don't think so. I think the seeds may be a bit too big for that. Usually I can remember gathering seeds if I still can't remember the plant they came from. I am so stumped by these seeds. I don't even remember gathering them. I will ask a friend when I see her on Thurs. if she gave them to me perhaps.
