The butterfly was ready for its first flight, so no concerns about goo on his face. He put it there on purpose, and then it took off after a few minutes. It covered his eyes a few times, as well.

I just released what I hope is our last one this morning. This chrysalis was found last week, so I brought it in to keep it from any harm - after it got this far, it would be a shame to lose it. Another chrysalis next to it was already dark and gone. I took what I am calling a 'stained glass' shot, with the sun shining from behind, which I think looks really good. I hope she makes it home in time. And what do you think of the other place one decided to attach? This is my son's small guitar. No idea how it got in there, but I removed it so it could actually get back out again. That one was also released. It must have crawled out of the tank at sometime.Thumb of 2010-10-15/Lance/3e8bbb

Lance....that is a georgeous picture of your son and the monarch. If you haven't framed that yet...shame on you. LOL!
The guitar...too funny. They can crawl off quite a ways and how they select where they pupate is always a mystery. Glad you spotted that one, it would have been difficult to get out without being injured I bet.
