Repurposing our trash and saving our pennies..... and our planet. Plastic lasts a very long time. Thank you Dinu for posting another way we can use an item that otherwise goes to a landfill. Now, not only will I shop for the right product but also the right container. LOL

I have also used electric casing to label my plants. I'll bring it up as another tip soon. They too work very well. I just posted in another comment here about our environment. Do see that comment as I don't want to repeat here. "Slow down our waste contribution to the enviromnent." One of my friends 'awarded' me with the tag 'Master recycler'!! Not for nothing I have about 70+ items in my 'Junk blog'. If you like to see this, I'll link.
Thanks Bonnie.

My hats off to you, Dinu! Beautifying the world is not just about planting a flower. It is soooo much more. We humans are the ones destroying our planet and we must each do more than our share, in our own way and in our own space, to redeem it. Thank you.

Imagine one person creating havoc with waste that does not disintegrate at all and then dying. What are we going to leave behind after we are gone? Garbage? What do we do to Mother Earth for bringing us to live? What do the next generation want? Garbage or some good living conditions? What did we live on? We lived on what good [that is what they knew in those days!] our elders did. Right?

Right! The previous generations considered it an honorable way of life to economize and to not waste and pollute. In this modern climate of thought it seems like no one is happy unless they have an obscene amount of 'stuff' and it is a 'throw away' generation with no thought for the generations to come. Everyone wants something new and they discard the used. It is an abuse of our planet and out of control. This earth supports our life and we had each better begin supporting her before it is too late. Please keep posting ideas for repurposing items that would otherwise find themselves in a landfill. I will keep encouraging and passing along tips to garden clubs and plant exchanges. It is our responsibility. Thank you.

What a noble service you are trying to do by spreading the message of env. conservation! We have to quickly revert to 'need based' buying and discard 'want based' system which has got the better of our attitudes. In our country there is no system in place to recycle things which is actually the need of the hour, hence everything piles up. Just 30-40 years ago, we only had garbage and waste 90% comprised of organic matter. Now it is the other way!
