Thanks. I think I'm getting better in which ones I buy...or at least better at separating the wheat from the chaff in the lowest-priced auctions.

Don't get me wrong; I'll still buy an "unimportant" cultivar simply because it's pretty, it just seems I'm buying fewer of those as I near the two-century mark.
Hardy hibiscus are a hobby, but daylilies are an obsession.

@MrKGDickie Ken, you'll figure out what works best for your particular climate and taste. Lesser heralded plants may particularly love your environment and perform very well or a "proven winner" can turn into a total bummer. (For me it's, "Goblin Moon". and "Geneva Fire truck" respectively)
