Perhaps you use rain water anyway, Tarev, but everything I have read says to use distilled, reverse osmosis, or rain water with the carnivores. That's going to be one of my challenges, since I use tap water for all my plants.

My other carmivores, the Pinguiculas can take our tap water and grows well indoors..but for sure this Nepenthes will be using distilled water, similar to what my Sarracenias get, though the Sarracenias need to sit in water..the seller of this Nepenthes said for this type it does not need to sit in water.. I just hope it still does not get too dried up here, when we enter our very hot low humidity periods in late Spring to Summer. This would be another fun learning curve
Keep me posted on how your carnivores do, Tarev, and any tips on growing them. I have those three Nepenthes alata rooting (don't know IF any WILL root) but won't purchase any of the Drosera (probably the Cape Sundew) until I begin to empty out my GH's.

Someone brought Dendrobium Spring Bird 'Kurashiki' to our MOS meeting for a donation auction. I snapped it up. I think it is going to be a gorgeous addition to my collection.
I'm back from the Tampa Bay Orchid Society show and sale. It was great except for the time my buying shoes caught fire but I made it past that and came home with 8 new babies for the OC.
1. E. naranjapatensis x E. alata: Anything with Encyclia alata has to be good. It is a good size primary hybrid with two long spikes that should open in a week or so. I'm happy with this one.
2. Den. Love Memory (Den. White Rabbit x Den. Sachi): In bloom. Large healthy looking plant.
3. Den. anosmum: I have one of these but wanted another. It's probably my favorite Dendrobium and this one is nicely in bloom.
4. Dendrobium [Den.] auriculatum: A small plant but it is a hard to find species with a silver to white colored flower. I hope I can get it to bloom.
5. Cattleya [C.] amethystoglossa: Beautiful species in bloom with red hair and a freckled face just like me in my youth.
6. Rhyncattleanthe [Rth.] Krull's Golden Horses (Rth. Tangerine Horses x Rth. Carolina Golden D'Or): In bloom and too nice to pass up.
7. Ctt. Siamese Doll 'Kiwi' (Ctt. Netrasiri Doll x C. Netrasiri Beauty): In bloom and I fell in love with it. I couldn't help myself.
8. Rlc. Steve Stevenson 'Ponkan' AM/AOS x Rlc. Drew Simon Smith 'Krull's Envy' AM/AOS: I think Ponkan is the name of the road where Krull-Smith greenhouses are located in Apopka. Anyway, a pretty floofy flower and I had to have it.
Lots of fun and a big thank you to the guy who helped put my shoe fire out. I have show picks to post and will tell about my ribbon adventures.

Thanks, guys. The show closes at 5:00 PM so I went over to collect my orchids and ribbons. The vendors were breaking down and I managed to score this little fellow for just $5. Here is Gyc. Kyoguchi X C. Gold Star.
