That is a great first bloom, Charley. Wow!! Hurray! My first blooms are often
messed up due to spring freezes, so one like yours would be
a "jump up and down with excitement" day.

I may have misled you. That "poly" was close to the end of its bloom cycle last year. Judy, the hybridizer, says that it is prone to doing that.

I don't have any first blooms yet but my scapes are popping up like crazy now. MR BUTTERS was one of my first blooms for me in July! I guess I have a few more weeks to wait. Thanks for the compliment.

'Message of Love' is very cute:)

Will, I have 'Mister Lucky' too and Shirlee is right, it is one hot color! I used to have a lot of trouble getting my camera to capture the color correctly, but since I have my new camera, it seems to be spot on. I will have to post a couple of pictures of it later. Mine grown in some shade, so it gets a very deep orange-red. I love it!

In full disclosure I have to say Mr. Lucky blooms have had a little trouble with splotches and form. I still like it though. This is the first year I've had it. hopefully these minor issues will sort themselves out when it's better established.

Thanks, Vickie and Will! When I looked back through the years on this thread I realized I don't even have most of the ones I showed in 2016 anymore... I keep moving forward as time marches on... :sigh:... and I guess that's a good thing?

Ok, so many crazy beautiful blooms in the M category that people have posted! The Ms seem to be a supper popular letter to start Daylily names with, maybe because people see something they like and naturally go " Mmmm..."

So, I'll have to break this into pieces, like Betty, but my blooms aren't all as new and classy.

Nice ones!
It was my first year with Mini Pearl. Bloomed nicely but shows rust. I'm still happy with it.

First year for Mr. Lucky also. The first few blooms were a little wonky but it soon sorted itself out. Looks even better in real life than in pictures.

I agree on Mister Lucky, Will. I have a difficult time getting the correct color when photographing Mister Lucky, so seeing it in person is really nice.
