Jim/Ursula, and anyone else who has a sun room, aka Florida room, what sort of glass was used in the greenhouse/conservatory that y'all built?

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.

Ours has double pane, sealed tempered glass panels, supposedly providing good cold protection here in zone 6. They have some UV reduction, but I don't remember anymore what the factor was.

You have the Florian glass, the same people I just got my estimate from. The glass the salesman recommended is the tempered -over- tempered, multi-coat, low-E Super Solar Control glass. That's a lot of words for a piece of glass! Sticking tongue out He recommended the same glass on the roof and walls. He says this glass is not only super efficient in maintaining heat in the winter and cool in the summer, but also because it greatly reduces infrared and ultraviolent (neither of which plants need for growth or blooming), there is quite a bit of privacy. He says one can see out clearly but when outside, one cannot see inside well. I will have a 5' screened, sliding door with two 5' screened, sliding windows on the long, east wall, and one 5' screened, sliding window on the 8' gable side. Having the screened, sliding windows and door will allow for some cross-ventilation on nice days and would also allow for one to "feel" the outside when those windows were opened.

Yes Ken, that's it!
My greenhouse was built in 2001 and it still works perfectly. I had it re- glazed about 3 years ago, the panels are really tight.
