Hurray! I love this entire week of celebrating the beauty of amaryllis. So much so that I went out and bought a lovely bulb on sale at Walmart.
It doesn't seem to have a name, just listed as red and white amaryllis. Does anyone recognize this one?

Walmart is selling them as summer blooming bedding plants.

From the ATP database:
What a sweet orange bloom.

There are so many beautiful cultivars in our database. Hurray!

Maybe the neighbors would love to have Abigail come harvest the chickweed. Whistling Way to go Abigail.

I love Winter Sowing seeds. Green Grin!

When danger of frost is past I am going to plant it outdoors, to see if it will make it through out winters.

I bought some of those last year, Lynn. Exact same ones as you did plus some solid red ones. The bulbs are huge this year. One of them rebloomed for me during the summer! They are planted outside in the ground (as we have mild Winters in Florida).

I bought several of these amaryllis on clearance at Wally World for $1.50 each. I may buy some more this year when they are discounted or clearanced again. A very elegant plant and bloom! I felt like I got a steal of a deal for the clearance price!

And they make very nice gifts in a pretty container with a bow. Could make a cheap Christmas or hostess present. Smiling

Walmart here has pink ones, too. Even for their regular price of about $3, what a deal!
