Sorry I missed this thread, wonderful tutorial Charleen! Thumbs up

Chris and Lynn got me interested in polymer clay last winter after seeing all their wonderful creations. I tip my hat to you. I picked up some clay in November and STILL haven't played with it. I'm afraid it would be a very addicting hobby and do I really need another one? Hilarious!

Question for you...do you use your regular oven to bake these or do you have one of the little 'toaster ovens'? Confused

I bought a convection oven to use for baking my stuff. Too much work to clean my regular oven every time I use it. However, it does limit the size of things I can make.

Chris, maybe a stupid question, but do you have to clean it just because of the smell? Confused I seem to remember reading that was one of the reasons for recommending not to use your regular oven.

Here is a great link on polymer clay safety. http://www.polymerclaycentral.... As long as you clean your oven on a regular basis, it's fine to bake your polymer clay in it. That being said, my inside of my convection oven does have a film on it from baking the clay. Baking clay is the only thing I've ever used it for. I just don't care to clean my oven that often! Me neither. They do have some nice ovens on the market just for clay. the best thing I have is the pasta maker. It does a great job of conditioning the clay to make it blend together so we can use it. My old hands needed back up.
Thank everyone. I enjoy doing this for Becky. I love everyones praises too. Love you all.
Cheryl love your new Avatar. colors are amazingly beautiful...

I am learning so much my brain hurts. I have 36 threads to catch up on and everyone keeps adding to it.

I think I will buy a toaster oven at Goodwill just for my clay. When I start making it.

You can find those toaster ovens at thrift stores at a very reasonable price.

My brain hurts just trying to keep up with the threads, I always get behind and don't want to miss anything.
