Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (Part 1)

By NEILMUIR1
July 13, 2011

Built in 1514, Hampton Court Palace was home to King Henry VIII and is stunning, as are the gardens. It is now also home to the worlds biggest flower show! Unfortunately the day I went it rained and rained, but bear with me as I go through acres of mud to show you some of the sights!

What a wonderfull place and flower show. I love the mums, fuchsias, roses etc. I loved it all. Am sorry I will not be able to put together a large garden in Ventura as the mobilehome park does not allow much room for people to garden. And its called a family park.

Neil, keep posting those great pictures and articles. I love them!! Lovey dubby

Yes it did help my day. With trying to get packed for my move back to Calif and having to give up my garden here and my cats, I'm a little bummed out.

Dear Marti, i am most sorry to hear that! Give up your cats, oh dear I think my one would follow me. To give up my garden would not be allowed. I am sure all will be fine, in the end.
Regards from a very wet England!

My cats have never been happier than roaming this acre, lying in the grass and on the porch. I can not in all fairness to them take them back to Calif and lock them in one room. As for my garden, it seems like everytiime I get a garden started something happens and I have to leave it. But I need to go out to Calif and help take care of my grandson. I am tired of the daycare providers hurting him. My son is at his wits end trying to find someplace safe for his son while he and his wife work. So I will become his daycare provider. At least I've got enough sense not to set HOT food infront of a 4 yr old and expect him to wait for a bite til it cools off.

This put him in the ER on Morphine for a night after the daycare provider proved that she is stupid!

Dear Marti, that is not stupid that is criminal! Family comes first in all matters, and Gods gift to children was their Grandparents! I too have moved many times and yet I have always been lucky enough in the end to find a garden, either my own or someone else's to help out on. I do so hope you get this sorted out, as who could be better than a grandma to look after a grandson. Don't worry, once a gardener always a gardener, and I am sure something will come up for you.
I really wish you all the best in your difficult times, but I know you can cope.
Regards from England.

I did find a community garden not far from my son's place and will get a space there ASAP when I get out there. I plan to teach my grandson how to grow his own veggies and some flowers for his momma. Plus I can rejoin the Rose Society and have fun there.

Dear Marti, I knew it would not take you long as I stated once a gardener always a gardener. I wish all children could learn to grow their own vegetables and how to cook, it is an essential life skill!
Here is a picture for your grandson, this may spur him on.
Regards.

My son says the boy likes carrots and corn on the cob. So I'm thinking baby carrots or those carrots that grow like a golf ball. and see if I can find something like mini-corn to start him on. My neice and her husband are making me a sign the says: "Elijah's Garden". They are burning it into a piece of wood and than I'll put a water-proof coating on it.

Dear Marti, what a great idea for your grandson! i have six nieces and a nephew as well, and my belief was to teach then when they are young and they soon learn how do it.
Good on you Marti, I am sure he will learn quickly in your capable hands!
Regards.
Neil.
