So many to love. I really love the for of the white one. Big and ruffly and all white. Nice!

Kilt Lilt is tender in our area as well. 'fancy' was an old plicata name--the current one for that pattern escapes me at the moment.

Tom -- 8th row down has two Irises -- the one on the right is two-tone purple with an orange beard. Right?

We're having another hit of rain - so far not as much as two days ago, but substantial.
Brad, you asked how far we are from Santa Cruz. I'd estimate 200+ miles or four + hours.
(I'm not very good at estimating Confused )
Thinking about all the newly emerging plants...

I was trying to describe to my husband why I love irises so much - and Joe's so much.
He gets it, and is willing to weed by hand! He's a peach.

Tom... I really liked both of those too you got for bonus (One Step Beyond) glows in the sunlight looking forward to seeing it bloom this year.

Jan... That's great news for California.. How close are you to Santa Cruz did they get a bunch as well.

One of the highlights of visiting Superstition is getting to see all there wonderful seedlings they have and look at what projects they are working on and of course Green Grin! I found some real beauties growing in there seedling beds now if we can just convince them to give the majority of these a name we can really get excited. Once again hard to pick a favorite but the Orange one row 8 would look really good growing in my garden at Home Smiling and I don't have anything else like it so if I only got to chose 1 it gets my Vote.

there are 14 pairs of photos, the eight pair has two that are orangish with rosie cheeks, I like the one on the right.

It's showing up different for me, Tom. There are 8 pairs. They are mixed in with 3 sets of four. For a total of eleven groups. I see an orange with rose shoulders -- it's on the left-hand side of one of the sets of four. Shrug! Confused

Mary Ann, I was confused too..until I changed the width of my browser window. Originally I saw some row with 2 and some with 3, when I made it wider I got some rows with four, and when I made in smaller I got rows of two.

Debra, how do you do that trick of picking our specific photos you want to copy into your post? I've tried to figure that out several times in the past. It would come in handy!!

I like the orange one with the rosy cheeks because I don't have anything like it...but the one that really grabs me this morning is the varigata that is posted just before it. I also really love the beautiful ruffled white one!

Mary Ann, I opened the thread in a second window (so I had a duplicate window open), found the post, hit quote, then figured out where the photos I wanted were located in the quoted data, copied and pasted those character strings into the first thread window.

Thanks guys !! It looks like we have a almost Unanimous decision the Orange one is the winner from that group and I agree with Neil that is a perfect name for that plant it does have the colors of a Sunset Smiling if it looks as good next year maybe it will get a name Green Grin! Here are a few more pictures I had of it in a clump.

Lucy.. The one showed above is a sib to there new intro (Velvet Valentine) although they look similar in my pictures in the garden they are quite different. The seedling has more violet in the falls and the one intro'd this year is a Hot Pink color which is what I liked about. It was our favorite seedling in there garden and look forward to growing it at home.
