Thread OP

This was sent to us as a bonus plant and was identified as Suburban Vera Mae. Having reserach Suburban Vera Mae, this is not it.

Too many look alikes, and there are over 79,000 registered daylilies so unless your supplier can ID it from their current inventory, it will have to remain as a NOID. Shrug!

Just curious as to what the features were that make you think it is not 'Suburban Vera Mae'?
Is it the height, the blooming season, the bloom size, the bud count? Is this the first bloom?
I see daylilies all the time in the database and looking at just the blooms I would swear it could not be the same daylily, but they actually are the same? You may know all this already, but just thought I would ask, just in case. As the saying goes, "What's the difference between a $200.00 daylily and a garden daylily"? A lost tag!

I would say it's ALL the registration features: light yellow orange blend with red orange eye and edge above yellow to green throat. Not even remotely close. nodding

Well, Ok, I should have read the description closer, that obviously does not fit the description.
Sorry!

No doubt the description above did not fit the daylily, but here is a good example of what I had in mind, when I suggested the above questions.
yellow with a triangular red orange eye and edge sometimes showing red teeth
Fred grows beautiful daylilies, but one of these blooms does not look yellow, but he knows it is the same daylily because he grew it.

Hi, the photo looks a lot like one I have in my garden..."Lavender Stardust." You may wish to look it up and see what you think. I thought mine would have more lavender, but it did not. I agree there are so many kinds that unless it is a very popular cultivator, one might not be able to ID it. I am aware that the photos sent from the suppliers look like they will be more the lavender I was expecting, but not the case.

Good luck with your ID search!

Lavender Stardust does not have gold edges like the posted image.
