I submitted this to the database as Mexican Evening Primrose, but now am wondering if that is correct. I no longer have it and this is the only picture I have of it that I am aware of. It usually got about 18-24 inches tall and spread like wildfire. If I can't get positive ID, maybe I should just have it removed from the database.

Thanks.

I agree. The color is deeper than the ones growing on my farm, but I think variable color is typical of evening primrose.

where did it go?
It is such a great photo I wanted to at least give it thumb!
don't remove it!
Without a positive ID of a specific cultivar it can still be submitted under Oenothera speciosa--just not 'Rosea' or 'Skiskiyou'
and it does have variable color from white to pink to deeper pink Smiling

Vickie, I agree ... that is a beautiful photo and you should upload it to the general entry for: Oenotheras (Oenothera)

This might be a good time to try out Dave's new photo finder tool, if I can figure out how to use it.
Edited to add: I did not see it (I meant the photo) not the tool.

The photo is probably going through a vetting process before it appears on the plant page.

anyway to associate this thread with the photo now so that we all get contest points? Hilarious!
just kidding--probably not the most useful conversation to preserve in the database

dirt, sorry for so much confusion over this plant. I wasn't sure where the picture was either after submitting it. The original submission was rejected, so I had to submit again. I didn't even know there was a contest going on. Babysitting grandkids will do that!
