ATP Podcast #77: Chatting about our Plant Database

By dave

Is it possible to spend over 30 minutes talking about the All Things Plants Database? Yes! There's so much to talk about, from the custom databases, parentage of cultivars, multi-plant images, comments, moderators, green pages, planting calendars, growers reports, and so much more!

I am extremely thankful for our plant database here at All Things Plants. I'm not a master gardener or even a really, really avid gardener like many folks but I've always wanted to know about the plants that I do enjoy growing, whether I grow them outdoors in the garden or indoors as houseplants. Browsing the database here has not only allowed me to learn things about plants that do well in my part of the country but I also learn about plants that I've never even heard of. Sometimes when I see the beautiful photos that our members post, I find myself clicking on the link to the database to read more about the plant and I end up with zone envy because it won't grow in my area ... Sighing!

I am very guilty of making errors now and then when I enter data into the database, which I know causes headaches for the administrators and I truly appreciate the hard work you all do and the patience you show us. We are so grateful to our database administrators for helping to make the ATP database the most accurate and best plant database ever, as it continues to grow and improve!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! to our Database Administrators and to all of our ATP members who are adding new plants, information, photos and comments to our wonderful database. Lovey dubby

I really enjoyed this Podcast about the database but I also enjoyed the chat about your cows which made me smile. I don't know a thing about cows but I've always loved the pretty faces of Jersey cows!
