The Horse Park of New Jersey is my favorite charity, It has been since the day it was just an idea of a few people. I am a life member and since I am getting older and can not be at the park to assist in the shows, etc.I thought I would try to come up with a fund raiser I could do. With this in mind, when I was cleaning up my craft and floral workshop and I found some old horseshoes. I decided to paint them, use up some old silk flowers to decorate them and see how they look. I sent them to the Park and they sell them for $10 each. All the money from the sales go to the Horse Park. Much to my surprise they are selling, so I started to advertise them on eBay, Facebook and some other places. I also take special orders from people who want their stable colors used, etc. The flowers are all silk. Horseshoes are real and can be hung up by wire or used as paperweights, etc .It is a fun gift for the gambler who has everything. It takes no time at all to make them and I enjoy offering something special for their benefit. It is a great way to use up the left over smaller silk flowers and when they do not need any live floral arrangements for tables, etc. it keeps me involved doing these.

This one was a special order from a standardbred horse breeding farm manager.

Sweet! I like the more asymmetrical ones best, like the Christmas one, but maybe' that's just 'cause I'm a bit off-center LOL

No, I like them better also, but most people question why they are "lopped sided". You never can please 'em all. Especially those who are not into designs. Most horse people are not. Sticking tongue out

I just put an album of them up on Facebook under JBsBirdsandMore and it is hysterical the comments I get on the different designs. The ones I just hate are some that the people seem to like. I think it depends where you live. Smiling

Sunflowers are really almost too big for the HSs. There are little white and tanish daisies that look similiar, but no sunflowers that small. Sorry.

Linda, that is about as big as you can get without it looking out of place. I have a sunflower that is just a bit larger. I can place it on the shoe and take a shot to see what it looks like. I may do that. BTW, if all goes well I may ship plants on Tuesday. I will let you know.

From May 11th to the 15th is the Jersey Fresh International CCI (JFI3d) Website: http://www.jfi3d.com at the Horse Park of New Jersey. I have been busy making some special shoes in the colors of the event. I thought you may like to see some of them. They represent Dressage and Cross Country. Riders and Horses from the USA and several countries will show their skills at this 3 day event. It is well worth coming to see it if you are in face near NJ and have nothing planned.
There are also many vendors and great food to keep everyone busy. There is something for all ages. A great family outing.
