You'll get there! I've been pushing it because I have three sizable new beds to fill, "ugly" jugs strewn all over the back forty, and the "lawn" is getting tall, but we are holding off the lawnmowing guys til I say they can come into the back yard.

Gah! I planted out (and potted up extras of) cucumbers, bush beans (two kinds) and amaranth this morning. I also planted out all the Johnny Jump-Ups. I should take a picture of the pile of empty, gaping-open jugs because that's all that shows just yet, the garden is all still so tiny, LOL!

Kyla, did you WS the jump-ups? I have about 10 million of them sprouting up in my garden right now... but I love having them, and they are so easy to just hoe out where you don't want them, so it's no problem that they are so "enthusiastic." Smiling

Really? You have enough to hoe? Blinking I'm overjoyed if I get one or two going each year! Hilarious! How did you get such a mass of them going, Sandy?

Yes I did winter sow them. I hope they will spread like crazy, too because as you say they're quite easy to remove if you need to but they are delightful lil beasties!

Chelle -- years ago I got a pack of seeds from Pinetree or somewhere, planted them (just in the ground, I think - but maybe i started them indoors), stuck the plants in the garden... and the rest is history! They reseed like mad and come up here, there and everywhere! It definitely wasn't any special treatment that I gave them... other than a lack of diligence about deadheading and early weeding Big Grin

I like to wait until they start getting big enough to dig up and move around to where I want them, then the rest get the hoe; I hate to do it, but my entire veg garden would be full of them if I didn't Rolling my eyes.

Thumbs up

I had a couple of them last year. I hope I didn't smother them with last fall's mulch! I'd so love to have a nice big patch of them someday.

Chelle, put a few plants in a good-size pot (with or without some other plants), then just let them grow and die back naturally, leave the pot outside over the winter, and I could almost guarantee it will be filled with seedlings in the spring... (I've unintentionally done that, as well Hilarious! )
