It seem like there wasn't much time for "bud Counting" last season. Here are the ones that did the best in my garden. Please feel free to add yours, regardless if it is one or twenty five.

Boy Mike, you get wonderful bud count. Lavender Blue Baby never gives me more than 18 to 20. You must have very good soil. I don't pay all that much attention to bud count. I really don't keep track of it. Maybe I should.

Cindy, I know it is a lot to do. I will be concentrating on tagging my crosses this year which will take more time than counting buds. I don't count all the scapes, just the ones that are doing the best on each plants. Your Ruby Stella is something else.

Last year was so disillusioning that I didn't even keep bud counts. They were not representative of what the cultivars usually produce and it wasn't worth the work to document what I knew was a crappy year. If I had started with daylilies in 2013, 2014 would have been enough to pull the plants out and replace with something not called a daylily. However, I found flower pictures from Denver (moved from there in 1984)--one was a pretty yellow daylily picture from my last garden there. Been growing them for a long, long time!!

Wow, Mike, you have some really different sounding plants. I really love Self Determination so I will have to look up some of the other names you have. I have several that really bloom their heads off, but can only think of Banana Peel, Matt, Old Barnyard Rooster and New Series off hand. They just seem to go on forever and are such pretty flowers. I will have to try and keep a bud count this year, but I am usually too lazy for that sort of thing. Whistling Whistling Whistling Whistling
