When you read/hear the local nursery is having a hosta sale and you are the first one there...even if it is 100 degrees...and stay for hours!

When you wait impatiently for the first pips of the year. Clean the beds carefully not to destroy a new one pushing thru. Buy the Hosta Finder and The Book of Little Hosta in the same month. Scan the internet for hosta pics,forums, ect. have the Library in your favorites

When you see that a local nursery lists 'Lakeside Paisley Print' on their hosta list and plan to make a mad dash out there for opening day to see if it's really so!

You know you're a hostaholic the moment you discover "hosta holics" on Google and go "Yup. Makes perfect sense."

You know you're a hostaholic when your husband says ONE MORE HOSTA AND I"M TAKING ROUNDUP TO EVERYONE!!.( so you sneak them home and plant them and then say Oh I had that one for years, when he ask how long have you had that one.)

Uh oh~~~ I do that all the time!!!

You know you are a hostaholic when you lose 4 or 5 over the winter and replace them with 25 new ones! I did that this spring...but I found a spot for each one!

Yes I also do a lot of feeling the ground for pips I think should be coming up.
But I always read the Hostapedia with it on the kitchen table, so no strain on my thighs! I weighed
it once and I think it tipped the scale at 13 pounds. Much more convenient to start out with the 'Field Guide to Hostas', also by Mark Zilis.

It would have been nice in Hostapedia if there was an ID graph, like you see with tree leaves, of course with thousands of named Hostas it may have been a bit difficult.
