I've read a few papers on hot water treatment of Caladium to deal with root-knot nematodes. Has anyone done this? Are there are other benefits? I'm really wondering if this is helpful in "waking up" dormant tubers.

Here's just one paper. http://fshs.org/proceedings-o/...

. All commercial growers do this at 122F for 30 minutes to control root knot nematode. It also seems to hasten sprouting.

Sounds intriguing! I might try it on some of mine to 'wake them up'.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
