For those of you looking for a place to buy these beauties, this little nursery that I stumbled upon owned Ty two elderly gentlemen in their 70's, but very spry seeming, offers an amazing selection of these little gems in a breathtaking array of colors. Check them out on the web or via phone. I just got my order yesterday, and it was outstanding. I went to the free pages to recommend them and saw that Donald (needrain) had already recommended them. So I added my recommendation to his. My bulbs were great guys. I was most pleased with the quality. If you are looking for these babies, this is YOUR place!

Anyone looking for some beautiful Achimenes, there is a seller on eBay right now that has a bunch of beautiful ones for sale. The seller is aurikab. I have bought from this seller before and was pleased with their things. This seller offers a lot of Serge Saliba rhizomes and even has a Saliba rhizome named after her/him(I am bit sure if the seller is male or female, I'm leaning towards female?) anyway, the rhizome is called Aurika Ashcroft. If you are looking for some stunning colors of 'Kim-ez' and are longing to get your hands on some Saliba rhizomes, check this seller out, they are in Florida.

You are welcome. This seller has rhizomes that will make you drool. I am wondering if this seller is related to or knows Saliba to have one of his rhizomes named after her/him?

Well guys, I got my Kim-ez from Aurika Ashcroft today, and they were very nice, well packaged in a nice padded envelope and wrapped in more padding. They were in perfect condition, nice rhizomes. Very nice seller, very nice doing business with them. I very highly recommend this seller, you can find her, not sure, but I just feel she is female. You can find her on eBay. She has a lot of Achimenes rhizomes to sell, many of them are Serge Saliba rhizomes. She told me she was growing 200 or more different Achimenes, if there was something I wanted just ask, she probably had them. Blew my mind for sure! 200 or more of those pretty things???? Shut up!!! This old hillbilly would be in hog heaven for sure, lol.

I bought a few of those Achimenes today! I will also have Episcias for you fairly soon, I'm waiting for some new growth. Sarah Beth is looking promising right now, it's one of my super duper favorites.

Oh Celene, that sounds wonderful! I do so appreciate that! Where did you get your Achimenes from? What colors did you get?? I just love the little fellows. The best thing about them is when fall comes, just stop watering them, let them dry out and die down. Put them to sleep for the winter. Late March to mid April, begin lightly watering them to awaken them from their winter slumber and you have your lovely summer hanging baskets to start again, don't have to buy them again!

I got a white, a double purple, a pink, a double red, and a yellow. What size pot should I use for a single rhizome? I thought maybe 2" or 3"??

Letting them go dormant over the winter with my hardier sinningias is appealing to me, I don't have space to overwinter a ton more plants. Too many episcias taking up the warm, bright spaces Smiling

Celene, I would choose the 3", as they are going to multiply. Sounds like you got some pretty ones! Did they have names? Were any of them Serge Saliba? His are beautiful. Yes, just let the pots dry up starting in October November. I just stack them up and put them where they won't freeze. Early April I begin to lightly water them & get them moist to waken them up. Then you wait for them to wake up and grow. So easy. I can't wait for mine to multiply! Expensive little critters, aren't they??? I just ordered some today , one was $10 plus shipping.!

A couple of them were Serge Saliba ones, I love the color on some of the pricey ones, but I don't want to lay out $20+ for a plant that I'm not sure I can grow. Well, I grew some generic-ish purple ones from Brent & Becky's a few years ago and liked them, but the fancy ones are likely to be more demanding.

Where did you order them from? I have been ordering from a gal in Florida that I found on eBay. And I have just been ordering direct from her, not through eBay. She is great. I put her in the green pages. Very nice and she grows about 200 or more different kinds. Wow. Omgoodness!
