Has anyone had a Paradigm revert back to green? Leaf type is still the same but I had an eye come up all green. I separated out the green portion of the plant and planted it somewhere else cause I still like the plant.

I just thought it odd that Paradigm would do this. Confused

What you have is usually called a sport rather than a reversion, since the parent wasn't a green hosta.
I did see that Paradigm was a sport of Abiqua Recluse (registered in 1999).
Another sport of Abiqua Recluse (discovered by sombody else in 1999, but not registered) looks like the green hosta we have. Can't really say that it is Glitter though, since they sported from different hostas at different times.

So ... as I am trying to make sure I follow all of this....do you then call this one Abiqua Recluse or is it an "unnamed" sport of Abiqua Recluse or Paradigm?

Thanks!!

it is a sport of the plant you took it from. I looked to see if Paradigm had any named sport like it and it doesn't. (Even if there was a named green sport from Paradigm, yours or mine can't be guaranteed to be exactly the same hosta as the "new" named sport).
What each of us has is an unnamed sport from Paradigm.
I was curious only, to see if there was something like it in the history and there is, but only genetic testing could show it to be the same or different than it's possible "uncle" if you wanted to call it that (not a technical term, of course).

It is a gorgeous hosta IMO, too. That's the label I have on it, but was considering the name "Paradox" along with the sport name on the label.

you can name it whatever you like - yours can't be shown to be like any other one, even if they sport from the same plant name

So help me get this right... if I get a green sport from Paradigm and you get a green sport they are not the same?

Without genetic testing there is no way of knowing they are the same.
