This picture was taken of a plant in Dallas, Tx. Anyone know what it is? The way it's pruned makes it look like a sea urchin.

Possibly Eragrostis of some sort, commonly called "Lovegrass", "Tumblegrass" etc.

Purple Lovegrass (Eragrostis spectabilis)

It does look like one of the mounding types. Hard to tell because of the pruning.
