Hmm..I don't think my grubs were pink...I remember them green. So maybe not borer? *hopeful*
If we had no holes in our leaves we would have no butterflies!

The borer has a pinkish center only along its back, dark facial features. Mary Ann does not want to see my picture of one! But the pix below show the rear end of one in a rhizome after I dug it up and sliced off the end last summer. Second picture is the same rhizome this season after cleaning the wound with bleach cleanser and replanting only the roots to allow the open wound areas to scab over.

Sorry Mary Ann, but it is only the rear end of the borer. Rolling my eyes.
