I'm lucky to have a friend who lives near by who has a large hosta garden. Many of his plants are mature and huge. The pictures can be a little deceptive as to size. I visited his garden tonight and he wasn't home, probably a date night with his wife, but I'm always welcome in his garden so I took a series of pictures. Unfortunately I don't know all the names. I'll name the ones that I can.

Great photos. Do you guys belong to a local hosta society? If not you should find one and if one doesn't exist, you should create one!! Smiling

Diann....there is a newly formed Utah Hosta Society. We attended a meeting some time ago and joined. They are still trying to get organized and make plans. We are doing two garden tours as a starter. I'm a little amused today because I posted some pictures on another site and a woman from back east said she was "amazed" there were hosta in Utah. As you can see there are and that is part of the reason I post the pictures. My friend and I are lucky that we both both have wives that allow us our hosta obsession and I feel lucky that I have a good hosta garden to visit nearby and some one to talk about hosta to..

Well, I think most people think of Utah as a desert State. Obviously, it's a very agriculturally diverse state with all types of possibilities for gardening. I'm glad you are posting pictures of your hostas and gardens. I hope you will continue to do so. I also hope you all get your Utah Hosta Society off the ground and running. Smiling Show folks how to grow Hostas out there and soon folks will be clamoring to grow more of the beauties. :)

This weekend is the Harshbarger Hosta Society's garden walk in eastern Iowa. We are touring five gardens and at the last one we'll have lunch and a hosta auction. We should have fairly nice weather for it, at least, not 90+ degrees and pouring rain. Smiling

Keep your pictures coming! Someday, if the rain stops here for more than a day and I can get into my gardens to weed I might just post some pictures of my gardens. Smiling LOL
