It's quite orange with a slight coral undertone, elongated pointy buds, not much of a scent. It looks to me to be a hybrid tea. I'm in southern California & pretty sure I bought it in a store here locally (if that helps!). As always, thanks for your expertise & help!

Perhaps if you could tell us more about her, someone would know. Size, thorns, repeat blooming, when bought, etc?

Pretty sure I bought it this past winter as it's blooming for the first time now. It's moderately thorny, with dark green nearly brittle leaves. She seems like she wants to be fairly small but I'm gardening in containers so size is quite relative!

Look at Coral Meidiland and Orange Floorshow... they are single petal with white centers.

Database info for comparison to the two that Moonhowl mentioned:
Rose (Rosa 'Coral Drift')
Rose (Rosa 'Orange Floorshow')

@zuzu is an expert on Roses, perhaps she can offer suggestions.

Coral Meidiland is listed under Douceure Normand (the exhibition name) in our database, so don't be misled by the link to Coral Drift, which has far too many petals to be your rose.

Rose (Rosa 'MEIpopul')

Unfortunately, we don't have any photos in our database for Douceure Normand or Orange Floorshow, but both are possible ID's for your rose. Unfortunately, so are dozens of other names. Crying

Oops ... I typed Coral Meidiland into the database search but I see that I linked to the wrong one; I guess it came up because it has other cultivar names:

Additional cultivar names: 'Coral Drift'
'MEIdrifora'
'Coral Compact Meidiland'

It's definitely not the same rose in Julies photo.

Do the ruffled petals help pin it down?

The color might be difficult to capture on camera as well, and that also complicates identification. Heirloom's photo of Coral Meidiland and Bamira's photo of Douceure Normand look very different, but they are the same rose.

Oooo, you guys are so helpful!

The closest so far seems to be the Douceure Normand except my petals aren't ruffled like that. The scent is moderate; the bush is kinda squat. The buds are very very dark orange, almost orange-red. The first bloom looks quite coral beyond its warm orange. I'm not noticing an abundance of thorns.

I'll take some more pictures!

Wrong again! Those are ruffled petals, of course, aren't they?
