Hi DebChristian! Thank you for your very kind words -- and welcome to our online family. We have a group of happy people here -- and Irises are a part of why we're happy people. Well --- a little bit of Iris addiction hurt anyone, right? Green Grin!

Welcome! Deb! Kentucky seems to be quite a good place for iris growing. They sure do well for our Kentucky members!

Welcome Deb! Now if all you Kentuckians lived in the same part of the state you could start an iris society.

That would be nice. Our club in Bowling Green disbanded a few years ago. Most of the members are elderly. I think that is a problem with many clubs.

I had been reading an article about showing only one iris bloom in Region 7. More people would be willing to take a single bloom than cut an entire stalk. I think gifting to younger people also promotes interest. I know I can remember the days with young babies and low funds. Most of my flowers were gifts then.
