Does anyone have any guesses on this one?
It's kind of different so I have hope that someone might know this one.
The tag on it says Blueberry Swirl Schreiner 2004, but there is no such thing.
Note... This is not in my garden so I do not know where it came from or height etc.
I remember it was fairly tall and a big flower.
And a big Thank You! to @Calf_sue and @lovemyhouse for their efforts on trying to help me ID this Iris.

It kind of looks like their Swept Off My Feet but that is a 2014 intro.

It sure looks distinctive Ashton, but after doing a couple quick searches through the database (Schreiner plicatas, blue plicatas, and purple plicatas) nothing fits. There were a couple that were close, but the beard or the style arms were different. It may be one of the irises that does not yet have a photo in the database...and that would take a lot more time than I have available.
Good Luck, I hope somebody recognizes it!

It is in the Will Rogers Garden which is a public garden and they have a huge Iris garden owned by the Iris club.
I am not a member of the Iris club.
It's not the biggest deal to find the name of this Iris, it's just such a pretty Iris.
They have an Iris sale and I would like to know the true name so I could find this one.

I have looked in the DB for it also, with no luck.
I think the only hope is that someone grows this in their garden and recognizes it.

Put a picture of it on your phone, then when you go to the sale you could ask the club members if that iris is one of the ones for sale. Doesn't answer the name issue, but it could get you a rhizome! Smiling

Or to get one at least close. There are a few lookalikes.

It's really a nice one, and has enough distinct features that it should be one you could find the name to. It's form looks like a Keppel iris to me, but I've never seen one just like this before of his.

We have visitors each month at our iris club meetings and they often have questions. Also if they have online info about their group they will have contact info there. Contact them and ask They will point you to the person who is in charge of planting and mapping and you will get more info than u ever wanted. Good luck.

There is a good chance it is another Schreiner iris too, because they have produced many white and purple plicatas. Agree with Bonnie, still think the garden group is a good place to start.
