3 pics I've uploaded to R. multiflora have been questioned. I took a couple pics of the buds & foliage yesterday to continue this investigation. Volunteer plants on untended side of dirt road, mowed every 2-3 yrs. Will take closer bloom pics in a few weeks. TIA!

R. multiflora is a botanical species, most of the viny roses and rosa polyantha from her comes.
almost all belong to the Group R. multiflora , a small exhibition

TY so much for the replies! I don't feel qualified to be the decider on this, not knowing enough botanical anatomy terms to read keys. I'll continue to add pics when I "visit" these plants, until other pairs of eyes can reach a consensus. Will prob be about 3 weeks. Is there any part of the anatomy I should try to catch in particular?

Stefan's last link shows what grows rampant around here. Compare the details of your wild/feral roses to some of the close-up pictures there.

I'd forgotten all about that, excellent memory! Could have just added to that discussion.

Could it be a multiflora hybrid? They grow just as fast and the flowers being double I doubt makes it a pure species.
