What a score Kyla I really like your pot border!! Glad your semp isn't blooming... Sometimes the leaves lift up if they want water or less direct sun shine and then they flatten back out once they get whatever they're seeking... Another reason I love these plants!! Whistling

Oh interesting, Greg, thanks! I do love watching them. Direct sun is mostly what I have to offer them, either that or too much shade in other areas. But so far most of them seem happy. There are some who are indeed lifting their leaves up and possibly that's protection from too much sun. (Little Rock gets positively sun-blasted these days.)

Great score on the clay pots, Kyla!

So, developments to Lone Star -- y'all will have to tell me but, it does begin to look like it wants to send up a flower. Eventually. Whistling

Yes, that certainly is a bloom stalk. Hurray!
Now you should try to cross pollinate it with something else that will be blooming at the same time. Something you think might make great parents for a new hybrid semp. Green Grin!

Hilarious!

Well, don't really have anything else blooming of the right species, dontcha know. But I am remembering there being no pictures of the Lone Star bloom in the database so I am anticipating taking pictures and making that addition at some point.

I'm just excited to see this! Woo hoo!

You are right, there is no bloom photo for 'Lone Star'. Yours will be the very first. Hurray!

Here are some progress report pictures. It is amazingly hard to get a clear shot of these buds! but finally on the fourth try I got a real clear one. Posting the three out of four that I managed even to get focused fairly well, because they are all different angles to the plant. Green Grin!

Still having a hard time getting clear focus on the budstalk, but I am posting this picture anyway because it shows an interesting detail of the development -- the green horn looking thing there?

It could be a young leaf attached to the bloom stem.

Sounds right. There are now several, but in other news, our power went out during some severe weather last night and is still out. I managed to get Lone Star under cover before the storm hit and it's fine, and very photogenic if only I could take and download a picture, hahaha! (Using a cousin-in-law's wifi and power for a couple hours but didn't think to bring camera, darn it.)

anyway I am MIA til this gets fixed, we have no estimated repair time either....... Sad

At least Lone Star is okay, though! Thumbs up
