Much needed rain this weekend!
Everything was so dry even with that little snow last week.
But dipping to near freezing so no gardening here!
Spending the weekend with grandkids so their parents get away.

I'm hoping to finish potting up my tomatoes and peppers today... then I can move on to the things that sprouted in my WS jugs Smiling

I didn't start any seeds this year, Friday I went plant shopping and just about filled the bed of the truck with assorted annuals and perennials. Yesterday I organized them and put them in better trays so it will be easier moving them under the deck at night, I cannot trust the night time weather until at least the 24th.

It's cloudy today, 47f/8c and raining at the moment but only supposed to be showers, we really need a few days of rain as the forests are all very dry.

Ours really are late this year -- they often show up before anything at all is blooming; I first spotted this one on my rhododendron that's in full bloom right now.

Doing well with the planting. Another clear sky day with (oh my) 33 according to my outside temp reader. But things look nice and crisp (not with frost). I think next year I will grow my dahlias indoors along with vegies starts and those perennials I know I can grow easily. The ones that seem to fail I will purchase at a nursery. Considering the reduced work, soil, $$ for lighting, it should come out about even.

Good plan Mary! I think in Northern zones we must adapt our growing to the climate and weather changes.

Uh oh -- that cold air is headed my way, supposed to go down near freezing tonight ! Today was beautiful, though -- we were only supposed to hit 62F but our thermometer here said 73F, and I was working on potting up pepper plants in the GH and it felt like about 173 !! Hilarious! Windier than all get-out, though -- presumably that cold front moving in... I'd better go batten down the hatches as soon as the sun goes down.

The cold front has already hit here, it's been snowing off and on all day. More on then off with a high of 39. It's suppose to be in the high 20's tonight and freezing again tomorrow night. Blinking Sighing! I'm not sure what that's going to do to all the plants that are up and the bulbs that are blooming and already hanging down from the cold and wet, but it sure makes me nervous. If it's coming your way, be afraid....be very afraid,,, Hilarious!

Yikes, it's supposed to be 38F tonight, but 30F tomorrow night... yesterday they had us for mid-30s both nights. Thumbs down Well, what ya gonna do?? I was kind of thinking Mother Nature owed us one after last year, but apparently she has something else in mind. I guess now I'll just hope the ground has enough warmth in it to help protect the plants! Or maybe I'll do some more winter sowing Rolling on the floor laughing

Susie, sorry your weather is so horrible, hope everyone stays above freezing tonight. It has been pretty good here, had thunder and lightning but not much rain to day.
