I just got a few pics showing our backyard, here is one from above. After this coming weekend we should have finished gardens on both sides of the yard and have all the junk cleared away! Also the fence on the right needs to be painted and the plants in the garden bed need to be moved to make way for the patio which should be going down in the next few weeks.

This is showing where the patio is going at at the back of the house. You cant see this area in the first photo. Again, soon the junk will GONE!

This area is on the left in the first photo, you can see I have already done some transplanting. I can't wait till we get this all done and I can start buying a few more plants!

And the last pic for now is on the right in the first photo. This is the fence that needs to be painted still.......alot of work ahead of us! I'm hoping to rip out the yew on the left in this pic. Its really dead looking with very little new growth....hoping to replace it with a Lilac or an Elderberry.

Is that the blue pot in the next to last picture? I am going to get dark blue (navy?) paint this week end and put some pink petunias and the rest of my bidens and something white in with it. I have 4 supertunias yet to pot up so need to get to thinking.

Yup, those are both my blue pots, I didn't even realize I had taken pictures of them Sticking tongue out The bright blue on the left is in an iron chair and the navy one is on the right planted with a pink brug.

I just checked and the dark blue is by ColorTool and is just called 'deep blue 743'. Its a matte finish but has a little bit of gloss to it. I needed something white to for my planting so I picked up this rose at Lowes http://www.newflora.net/detail... It seemed like an option that was a little different form the usual. So far its doing really well!

I think that natural fence looks great unpainted? Are you sure you want to paint it?
Looks like you have a nice centralized location, what is all that ground that surrounds your fenced in area? Any chance you can expand past the fence?
We all have junk to get rid of and it just takes a bit of patience to get it all done, but looks like you have a great plan. Can't wait to see it with the patio!

The paint actually helps the fence weather better so we have to do that, plus we already painted one fence so we have to do the other one now Hilarious! I agree though, the unpainted fence looks quite nice too.
The area beyond the fence is a meadow area set aside by the city, with all the development that’s happening they set aside these areas to be left alone. The conservation authority would be on anyone who tried to cultivate it Sticking tongue out
I still can't believe I posted that pic with all the junk *Blush* it will be gone though this weekend! I'm not sure if its a long weekend for you in the States, but here this is the weekend where people do all their planting. I'm going to try to get a few more plants today before the mad rush starts!

Long weekend, but not until next weekend! Tasha, Mike and granddaughter coming to the cabin this weekend so will get a few things done up there, having some water problems. Then hope to stay home for the long one next weekend and plant some more seeds!
Can't wait to see what you do with that area of congestion, bet you will have it in tip top shape in no time.
I do like the unpainted but know what you mean about the protection.

Candee, I'm so sorry for not replying sooner! I've been outside as much as possible and not online as much. The clean up is coming good! And we've have a long stretch of hot sunny days which is a nice change from all the rain we've had here. The plants are starting to grow like crazy and the garden is looking really good! I took a picture tonight which I will post but first check this link to see the 'before'! http://cubits.org/arrangements...

Hi Steven, I read your "before" thread, before, but probably didn't post. But now........

WOW! Transformation has taken place. I love the fence color and your plants look so happy blending in together. Very nice work!

In the 'before' photo at your link, I see a lot of gallon Ziploc bags with foliage. Do you start plants in them or were they plant divisions stored in the bags?

Very nice work on a wonderful yard for you to enjoy this summer and year round perhaps Hurray! .

WOW, I can see you have been out there working like a dog Steven, the change is spectacular. All that work has really been worthwhile. The fence looks great. Now how about sending me some of that rain you talked about?

Thanks Candee! Its hard to think how much the yeard has changed these past few months! But it is looking amazing with all the sun we've been having. Its nice to be gardening again after having to cut back these last couple years.
