Very weird! I'll email her and see if maybe she changed some setting! I think she'll want to know that her cubit isn't available to everyone! I just finished a very long weekend of work so I'll be back and post some photos here later!

Relax. It's only a small setback.
I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!
I'd like to see them too. Always inspiring to see how others' hard work pays off and (hopefully rubs off to inspire me to do some rearranging in my ignored perennial bed.)

I think wherever your photos are parked (Cubits.org/MG) we either have to be members of that Cubit, or the owner hasn't white-listed it so all parties can view threads.

I did a search for MG and Master Gardeners here at Cubits, but that turned up TX Master Gardeners thread, so I'm not sure where else to look.

Here is the right side of the yard looking toward the shed. I wasn't expecting those morning glory vines to grow out of control so much but I really do love them. They are about done now though.

this picture is movng down the right side of the yard to this area I replanted a few weeks ago. I finally got a hardy hibiscus which you can see in the top left of the pic. This is where the Yew was before but since it just wasn't doing anything I chopped it down. You can see the stump next to the hibiscus.

Here is the back right hand corner of the year. I really love that Amaranthus(back middle), a lady from my work gave it to me so I'm hoping to get some seed from it. In the front is the 'Tiger Eye' sumac, behind it is 'Soulmate' Butterfly Weed and on the far right is the Flowering Almond

A view of the back of the yard with 'Prarie Sun' Rudbeckia in the back, more Butterfly weed to the left and some annuals in the front with a Peony that has died back. Do they usually die back in September?

More of the back of the yard with a Ligularia on the left that is just sprouting out. It was in the front but got devoured by slugs so I had to move it. I am glad it is sprouting out again. The is also some switch grass, ostrich fern and on the left is an annual Hibiscus I tossed in the composter that is now growing out of the side. It even has a bud on it!

I was not on as much while going through my BC treatments and then Steve and I went on a wonderful 3 week vacation in September to Italy, Greece, Israel, Egypt and Turkey. You can follow along here, I am still posting pics.
http://cubits.org/travel/threa...

Your gardens look great, have you not had any frost yet? Apparently not? We have been chilly here until this weekend and now in the 80s for the last time I fear. I brought in all my tropicals a couple weeks ago. Bless your heart on the Morning Glories, I planted them years ago and now rue the day as they spread and choke out everything in their path. LOL on the hibiscus, I don't think you can destroy them with anything.
I really like that stand up closet/shed that is in that one pic as well, where did you find that?

Candee, I hope your treatments are going well for you and with minimal side effects. I'm sure your vaction was wonderful and was a great stress reliever, I've always wanted to go to Italy so I will be over to check out your pics!

The pics I posted were from a few weeks ago, but we haven't had any frost yet. I too brought most of my tropicals in a few weeks ago but my Brugs are still outside so I think I've dodged a bullet by not having any frost yet. I really need to get them in as they are about done for the year. End of September they are always in full bloom and I hate to cut them down then.

As for the shed it was a gift when we moved into the house but I am pretty sure it came from HD. It's very nice and blends in well with the yard. Nothing worse then having some ugly thing ruin the entire yard!

All is fine on my end Steven, thanks for asking.
You are so right about one ugly thing ruining the entire ambiance of a garden. Yours looks great. I know what you mean about cutting and bringing in when in bloom, I cut back my entire late blooming clematis because I needed to get to the gas tank! It would have been done by now, but it wasn't when I had to cut it. I also have limited time to get it done because of working full time and the cabin on weekends.

Good to hear you are doing well Candee, you are looking very well in your avatar!
Thank-you for the compliments on my yard, since its fairly small I'm able to give it more attention. Our last yard was alot larger and it was hard to keep up!
I'm sorry about your clematis, the fall bloomers sure are beautiful, but it will probably come back even better next year with the prune back!

I prune it all the way to the ground every year and it comes back with vengence LOL, it is hugeous! Takes all I can do to get it outtta the trellis and away from the tank and away and out of my flowering pink almond!

Hard to think of impending frost in other parts of the world while we still are in the low 90's Smiling

It must be nice to have a yard that you can keep up with, and by your postings, you have done that quite well.
I, on the other hand, have been expanding my yard because there is so many things that I want to plant. Will be starting a thread on that soon once I get a handle on everything.

Clematis is on my wish list, Candee, but I don't have a sunny fence to grow it along.

I am not sure how you would propagate this particular clematis Dianne. It all grows from one single shoot and then grows like crazy. I believe it is some kind of "star" clematis.

Dianne, thank-you! I have put alot of work into it this summer and the advantage of having a small yard is being able to keep up. But on the other hand the disadvantage is that the beds cannot be expanded. There is lots of plants I'd love to grow and have have a very bad habit Blinking of over planting so everything is really crammed in with no room to grow.... Hilarious! I'm really trying to avoid that though......but Veseys just sent me a special spring bulb catalog and there is some amazing deals so I am afraid I might venture back to my old ways Whistling
I'm thinking that maybe since you live in CA and the sun is much stronger a clematis might take some shade where you are!
