I brought a Leek from the grocery store and potted it up.

If I just keep it watered will it get a bloom? Is it like onions where after it blooms the bulb/plant dies or is it like a perennial and will come back year after year?

The root system looks very shallow, will it get deeper?

Also does it hybridize with ornamental onion?
