IF you added a place on the profiles pages where a member could add links to their store/stores offsite, they could then add any link to their businesses without being limited to the 1 or 2 lines allowed in the signatures.

Then the signature line might say something like "Visit my stores for great deals" My stores are listed HERE. With the word here being a link to my profile page.

If those links on the profile pages are done with small logo images, they would stand out to the visitor and help drive traffic between the two sites and make it clear to the visitor that they are clicking on a personal ad to a store that is associated with the person and not this site.

I like this idea.

How about I set it up so that you can have your own infobox on your member profile, bbcode enabled, and you can have as much as you wish in there. That way some people can use it for information, others can use it for links, and maybe even yet other uses that can't be foreseen?

Thumbs up He sure did! I really think this will help people who are nervous about making the move. It will give them an easy way to have the very best of both worlds and could really boost their success in both areas.

I just realized that in order for anyone to actually use the bb coded info box on the profile pages for small, personal ad, image links they would need a way to upload the image here unless they are hot linked to an image off site.

They can upload the image in any thread or "Tree-Mail". Then, just copy/paste the lightbox tag that is created into their profile and all is well. They don't even have to submit the thread or mail.

It's a tiny bit out of the way, but I'm not sure I want to add another upload button to the preferences lest things get cluttered.

I've been copying lightbox tags forever on cubits so I can post on orchids and on another cubit, usually irises in my case. I have big pics so this saves a ton of time. You can copy them anytime you hit edit.

Doing it that way the little ads are always going to appear in a lightbox rather than as a tidy little clickable image link...or is there a way to insert the image at that point without the lightbox that I am not understanding?

Ahh, sorry. I misunderstood.

Rather than use the lightbox tag, use the img tag.

Upload the image, modify the lightbox to say img instead. Then, add "-jpg" to the end of the filename.

Whew, that's not simple, is it?!?
