It was growing in deep shade on the forest floor, I think it was climbing..

Probably not one, but the leaves really remind me of Strobilanthes (dyerianus, though obviously these aren't purple.) Maybe that could jog your memory, or someone else's.

The leaf structure looks much like some of the Paullinia...(Sapindaceae)..

I'll have to see which species grow in the Rio state when the 'Flora do Brasil' is back on line.. Rolling my eyes.

The Flora do Brasil is back up, no Paullinia or even the family Sapindaceae occurs in Brazil.

Oh I was wrong, very strange, I could swear it said before there was no occurrence of the family and now it gives a very long list! Even Paullinia is there in abundance in the Rio state! There was something wrong with the site probably before it got fixed..
