I don't know what's going on with Holly Dancer. The plant looks healthy and there are lot of scapes, but the scapes are clearly going to be shorter than they were last year:


A repeat. I've mentioned before how crazy the blooms have been on Judge Roy Bean. They've been fun to watch and today's bloom is straight out of a fun house with those mirrors that distort the image! This is the last bloom this year unless it reblooms. It's a really terra cotta orange color. Color coordinated with the terra cotta container it's in.

My buddy's Betsy is established and is only about 27"
Emperor Butterfly is new for this year and is already a favorite! Anybody set pods on it?

Finally another FFOE and I think I have it ID'd as Scatterbrain:The list gets smaller.
This is the scape that had all the buds at the top.

I didn't measure it Ashton but my Buddy's Betsy has to be at least 40 to 45" this year, but, we have had tons of rain so that probably is the reason.

It's registered at 30".
We are already at our yearly average rainfall at the end of June, so I know rain here isn't the problem.

Kid - I have set pods on Emperor Butterfly before. Here's a seedling of Emperor Butterfly X Great White.

I love the name Scrambled Legs. That's what my Dr. Doom is doing this year. Hopefully when it gets more established it will "perk up".

A few new ones. I really have to admire the ones that can hold their color in this 100* heat.
