Very nice. And I am envious that you have zinnias already. I thought I threw some on the ground last fall for them to germinate this spring. Only 1 came up. I reseeded in May, and none came up. I seeded again in early July, and now I finally have a few that are about 1 inch tall. I am not sure the growing season will be long enough for them to mature into blooms. I love that peachy salmon one. Do zinnias grow true from seeds? If they do, I would love some seeds from that flower.

I am going on vacation at the end of the week, but hope to post some yard to vase shots when I get back. Thanks for keeping this going......I always enjoy your arrangements.

I will have to have you remind me Dianne. All my zinnias are from previous years' seed and you would be very welcome to have some, just remind me. We are going away and hope there are many left upon our return but would gladly send some your way when I start gathering seed this fall.

I just got back from vacation few days ago. My daughter is going to grad school in Rochester, NY, and I accompanied her on the drive and flew back home. Are you going on your trip to Israel? Have a wonderful time!

welcome back to you too!!!! Hurray! Hurray!

Can't wait to hear your tales. Did I tell you that my daughter took her cat with her? The cat did amazingly well on the road trip. Was a little nervous on the first day, but felt right at home the second day and loved exploring all the new hotel rooms. Here is a zinnia bouquet from last year. I did not get any zinnias to grow to maturity this year.

Oh that is lovely Dianne. You more than made up for the lack of zinnias this year with that dahlia display! As for me, I got the zinnias, but few dahlias. I'll have to get busy posting as I just made a fall arrangement yesterday with one dahlia and the rest zinnias.

Here is my first 2010 fall arrangement - one single dahlia and zinnias and some tall grasses in my wacky basket with some of this year's wacky gourds.

I made this one of just zinnias and some autumn joy and grasses in my copper teapot.

Tea party at Candee's! I love that one. Wacky gourds are cool, also. Smiling

Those are lovely, Candee. In the basket one, do you have the flowers in an oasis for that upright look?
And when should I start reminding you to save me some zinnia seeds Whistling

I know you like tall lilies - would you be interested in some Philippine lily seeds? They get to about 6 feet tall. (and anyone else for that matter - I did not cut any blooms this year, and each seed pod has a lot of seeds)

I will gladly send some seed your way, if I harvest any this year. Things have been so busy since our return haven't done much gardening at all. I hope to get out there and cut some of the dead ones and start harvesting them. I actually had to buy some seeds for the zinnias the last 2 years as all of the ones I started got drenched and didn't develop. When I get some of the zinnias, I will gladly trade for some of your lilies, they are lovely. Would you like some wacky gourd seeds as well? I didn't get as many this year and not as wacky likely because of the drought.

It occurred to me this morning that I neglected to answer your question, duh! Not oasis, I have a small container that I just sat inside the basket and hid with the gourds.
