Celebrating Gardening: 2015
I noticed in the one pot of Regale Album........there are 4 bulbs to a pot for now and will get split up this fall but for now....3 of them are of normal size and have flower heads on top and then the one bulb in the same pot is short to the ground with a flower head on top that will put out 5 blooms......... I talked to several lily breeders and nobody seems to know the reason for this??

also my pouty martagon has now gone brown so wander if should dig up the bulbs since the leaves have died back and put it in out the big bed instead for next year.... they really pouted when they got here and grew up a bit and stopped and that was it?? very stunted growth on them........and no flowers unlike the album that is going to flower at ground level

need some expert thoughts on this so using this forum........ a lot of smart people on here that might have come across this type of thing....

Pat, again many variables in nature. As far as your martagon, if the stem is dying back I would cut it and plant the bulb in a position that you want it in. The longer the bulb is in its new home, the better off it will be next year.
