I have the same thing starting on my 20 yr old. It's amazing! She's definitely too big for my house and is outside yr round. I have already learned that this is not the exception for these plants to do this. It's an honor to have a plant that long I have it doing something very "mature". Smiling

If the top is healthy, you can just rub them off as they occur. They will definitely require energy the plant would otherwise devote to the top.
