Last night I wanted to point someone new to roses to articles on the site about roses, but couldn't find a way to do it. Is there something I am missing?

If not, is there any way we can have a key word or topic so that we can direct someone new to the site to some of these excellent articles ?

Lyn

If you have starred your favorite rose threads, you could direct them to your personal profile page and then to the starred pages most related to the topics of interest. Round about way, but that is all I can think of.

Larry ...

That's true, but I have stared a lot of threads that have nothing to do with roses. I think it would be a cool feature to make it possible for someone new to go directly to the articles of interest without having to go through my profile.

I don't know if it would be difficult for Dave to implement, but it might just be a no-brainer for someone with his skills.

Lyn

On the home page, go to the bottom of the Ideas column on the right. Click on "Read more gardening ideas". Then in the upper left in the blue area there is a Search Box... Search Ideas. I entered Roses and rose articles came up.

Or, on any page of the site, click on "Ideas and Articles" on the left-hand side of the page, type "roses" into the search box, and find all of the rose ideas and articles.

ok. I scrawled a little article last January in the middle of the winter blahs and just received notice that it is going to be published. I went to my folder and found it and read it. It is a bit rambling and perhaps not of much interest to anyone but me. I would like for Dave @Dave to know my feelings are NEVER hurt by not getting an article published. If it is not a fit then toss it. smiles

@Trish makes the decisions on the ideas. She has quite a queue of articles in the waiting and since we have celebration weeks, that means that the general-topic articles only have every other week in which to be published. It's good to have a queue to pick from on a day to day basis. Smiling

Thank you Trish and Dave. You are both so diplomatic and kind. I can't imagine what it takes to keep ATP the wonderful site that it is. My only thought, in this case, was that the article is not about plants, or a plant, and therefore may not be of any interest to anyone whatsoever. smiles

I always let the author know if I'm not able to run their article, and what the reason is. Sometimes there is a wait to have the article published and/or approved, but if they are declined I always let the author know why. It is a very very rare occurrence Thumbs up

Thank you, Trish. Any article from me always needs scrutinizing.... for grammar as well as content. I do not know when you find the time or patience. It must be a labor of love. Either that or you're just a glutton for punishment. lol

When I submit something that does not merit posting just toss it and move on. Have a great and productive day! smiles

Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie! Too modest by a mile. Several miles!

I peeked at your list of articles, and was reminded that you're one of my favorite authors.

>> 1. KLEM-uh-tis
>> 2. Kle-MAT-is

I'm still not sure whether that thread left me rolling on the floor laughing, or cowering under my bed in fear of The Pronunciation Police.

And :

"According to many sources the iris takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, "
...
"By planting white irises in your bed, you will be "cleansing the palate," so to speak. You will be giving each color a foil to play against. Your pale yellow iris will not look like a washed-out white one when it is growing by a truly white iris, and your lovely dark irises will only look more saturated with color in comparison with the white one. And the white one will glow and be beautiful in its own right. "

I see one of your Interests is reading. Have you published much?
