Well,here goes!his name is 'cocky'.he is a sulphur crested white cockatoo,.In 2004,his mother[Fay],[my gardening mentor],was diagnosed with 'wergeners disease' aged 82,.she had become frail and was unable to care for him,'but he was her life' and to remove him from her home ,was not an option.,so i would visit morning and night,[on my way to/from work] and do his transfer from his small cage to big cage and visa/versa,feed him and general care.When Fay went into an aged care facility,i would take cocky out to visit her[which was very good for both of them].Sadly 18 days after being there,she passed away on April 26-2010.Fays estate was not settled until November,so i had kept on caring for him at her home[having to gain permission from the trustees to do so].Cocky was left to me in her will and became legally mine on Nov 17. Fay had left me many instructions of things to do,plants to remove and take home and how she wanted cocky cared for,.My daughter [Fays granddaughter] purchased the house ,with her share of estate,so cocky is able to stay in the same place still,and i still go there twice a day,.he has 2 big dogs and a cat to keep him entertained now,..,Cocky has a brilliant vocablary and every day must be the same or he gets angry[if you change something]
