We have had weeks of constant rain and then hot 90º sunshine. My White Shell plumeria has some soft branches. Soft in the middle but not either ends or at the "Y". I have been careful not to overwater since the rains but not being able to judge how the hot sun has affected it, maybe I was lacking in watering since the sudden heat wave? How can you tell if it is rotting vs dehydration??

Helpppp this cutting took a bad turn! It's a Madame poni...what should I do?

Trust me, I am no expert. But when that happens to me from the bottom up or at the joint of branches it signals rotting . Simply cut off the soft part until you come to clean white healthy stem. It may or may not have white latex. It appears your cutting is long enough to salvage. Just cut it all off or it will continue to spread upward...any thoughts on mine? It is getting soft in the center of the branches.

Mark, cut off above the dried up part, let callous and re-root. I believe it's sunburn, I've had that with some of mine in the past.
Cheryl I'm a little puzzled because it does look dehydrated a bit; however, your leaves look healthy. I'd keep an eye on it and when in doubt either repot, or clip some of the older leaves to minimize moisture loss.

Thanks, Hetty. I knew you would eventually chime in. I gave my little tree a bit of water yesterday and it seemed to improve some. Not as soft but some wrinkles stayed. So I gave it a big drink today. The constant heavy rains we got confused my watering schedule with the new ones in smaller pots. Seems they dried out faster than I thought. But I also see this one is also top heavy with its branches and all the big leaves. I think it needs a bigger home. That will help regulate the moisture.
