Are you sure yours is LMS? Mine is yellow with red petioles. I haven't had it a full season yet, but it definitely emerged with yellow leaves, not green.

Yes, positive! I'm afraid this isn't a good photo of it--it was very late in the season.

It emerges in the spring kind of a lime green and then over the course of the season gradually grows lighter and lighter from the sun, till it is almost bleached looking, as in the photo above.

Red stems. Not the normal green color of most hostas. Most descriptions I found showed it to emerge with Chartreuse green leaves then become very pale as you describe.

I haven't looked at the stems--it is between my holly tree and a fence, so a bit hard to get close up with. Definitely not the green color of most hostas. Like I said, mine starts out kind of a limey color and then gradually turns golden and then a very pale yellow, almost white, by season's end.

I just looked back at last year's pictures. I bought it in very early September and I see it was bleached out quite a bit. You can see some of the red petioles in the picture.

That looks pretty much the same as my plant.

It suddenly occurred to me what some of the source of confusion might be? It seems there is a sprig of something growing in front of the Little Miss Sunshine leaf. Is it possible there was some confusion, with thinking that perhaps I was saying the tiny sprig was the hosta?

This was a close-up photo of a few of the leaves taken late in the season when the foliage was declining. At that point in the season, it was very bleached out, almost white.

I did go out and get a photo of it just now when it's still kind of a limey green.

Just uploaded the photo. It is still quite chartreuse, but looks paler because of the sun-dappling.

I really like it--it's interesting the way it changes color.

Mostly, because mine was new, I had forgotten that it got so light at the end of the season.

oh, that makes sense. For me it was just the opposite--the following spring I was convinced it had died and I had some strange new green hosta coming up in its place, because when I got it, it was already golden yellow! Took a while before I realized it was the same hosta!

That's the way I reacted when 'Remember Me' emerged at home, the second year I had it, with bright yellow leaf centres. When I got it they had already gone creamy white.
